Plasmon-Induced Trap State Emission from Single Quantum Dots
نویسندگان
چکیده
Charge carriers trapped at localized surface defects play a crucial role in quantum dot (QD) photophysics. Surface traps offer longer lifetimes than band-edge emission, expanding the potential of QDs as nanoscale light-emitting excitons and qubits. Here, we demonstrate that nonradiative plasmon mode drives transfer from two-photon-excited to trap states. In plasmonic cavities, emission dominates while recombination is completely suppressed. The induced pathways for excitonic not only shed light on fundamental interactions spins, but also open new avenues manipulating QD optoelectronics nanophotonics applications.

Telecommunication Wavelength-Band Single-Photon Emission from Single Large InAs Quantum Dots Nucleated on Low-Density Seed Quantum Dots
Single-photon emission in the telecommunication wavelength band is realized with self-assembled strain-coupled bilayer InAs quantum dots (QDs) embedded in a planar microcavity on GaAs substrate. Low-density large QDs in the upper layer active for ~1.3 μm emission are fabricated by precisely controlling the indium deposition amount and applying a gradient indium flux in both QD layers. Time-reso...
متن کاملAnisotropic emission from multilayered plasmon resonator nanocomposites of isotropic semiconductor quantum dots.
We propose and demonstrate a nanocomposite localized surface plasmon resonator embedded into an artificial three-dimensional construction. Colloidal semiconductor quantum dots are assembled between layers of metal nanoparticles to create a highly strong plasmon-exciton interaction in the plasmonic cavity. In such a multilayered plasmonic resonator architecture of isotropic CdTe quantum dots, we...
متن کاملBright CdSe/ZnSe nanowire-quantum dots for single photons emission
Semiconductor nanowires (NW) are appealing structures that allow designing quantum structure with unprecedented freedom. With NW, new type of quantum dot (QD) heterostructures (NW-QD) can be directly grown on defined positions without the necessity of self-assembly, as well as more complex structures such as coupled QDs or core-shell structure. However, the quantum confinement requires growing ...
متن کاملLattice-Plasmon Quantum Features
in this work, some of the lattice plasmon quantum features are examined. Initially, the interaction of the far-field photonic mode and the nanoparticle plasmon mode is investigated. We probe the optical properties of the array plasmon that are dramatically affected by the array geometry. It is notable to mention that the original goal of this work is to examine the quantum feature of the array ...
متن کاملUltrafast Room-Temperature Single Photon Emission from Quantum Dots Coupled to Plasmonic Nanocavities.
Efficient and bright single photon sources at room temperature are critical components for quantum information systems such as quantum key distribution, quantum state teleportation, and quantum computation. However, the intrinsic radiative lifetime of quantum emitters is typically ∼10 ns, which severely limits the maximum single photon emission rate and thus entanglement rates. Here, we demonst...
